MILAN - Dejan Stankovic spoke to Sky Italia this evening on the sidelines of the Milano Football Festival youth tournament, which he attended with the Nerazzurri coach and several team-mates. "We have eight very tough games ahead and we must prepare for them properly. We have to play lots of our direct rivals and some of the teams ahead of us could drop points. It's been a tough season, a strange year, and it would be amazing if we could salvage it by snatching third place."
Asked about his future, Stankovic joked: "I'll be here at Inter next year for sure. After all, who would take me?"
As for the derby clash on 6 May, which may well determine where the Scudetto ends up, Stankovic explained: "I'm not interested in who wins the league. We have to concentrate on winning our own games. Then we'll congratulate whoever runs out as champions."
The Serbian midfielder also commented on Andrea Stramaccioni's future: "Will the gaffer still be with us next year? That's for the president to assess and decide. But I can tell you that we're working very well with him. He may be young but he knows exactly what he wants. I hope we can win all our games so that he can stay here."
Stankovic was then asked about two ex-Nerazzurri, Mancini and Balotelli: "It's going to be tough for them to win the Premier League because they have Man United ahead of them but I'm sure they won't give up. Mario at Inter? He's a great player, a friend and a brother."
