APPIANO GENTILE - His mind is still on Juventus, but Giampaolo Pazzini is looking further ahead to a blue and black future and to winning again in an Inter shirt. Pazzo has settled in well at Inter and defends the colours with pride: "I arrived here almost a year and a half ago and felt at home immediately. It's a great team to be part of and although things haven't been going our way this year, I haven't changed my mind in the least: this team can start winning again and, being ambitious, I want to win," said the Nerazzurri striker when he was interviewed on Mediaset's Studio Sport.
Winning and getting back into the habit of scoring goals, which Pazzini always stood out for, is what he's aiming to find again and as soon as he can. As far as scoring goes Giampaolo isn't reaching his usual standards but things must change and he's working towards that: "This isn't my best season as far as scoring goes. I've had better years, but these things happen and this year it's happening to me. It's a pity though, because after the first six months last year when I was playing well, this season took a turn for the worse. But we aren't going to throw in the towel. We'll stick at it and hope to start getting back on track from Sunday. And to start scoring more again.
"Have I ever spent as much time on the bench as this year? No, and once you start, "he quipped, "you're there for good... It may be true that I hadn't been used to it over the past few years but I'm not worried about it. We have top-class strikers in the team and it comes as no surprise for me to find myself among the substitutes. It's been a strange year and, when I talk about a strange year, the reason is that there have been so many small issues right from the beginning... from the pre-season retreat, Beijing, the bad start and all of these small issues have snowballed towards the end of the season. You can't say it was a bad year just because of this bad spell. It has been a strange year of course, right from the beginning and we have had our problems. Then we got going again, then we fell back again; it hasn't been easy. What is the mistake you should never make again above all others? On the pitch you make lots of mistakes but there's no point in looking back at the past, because if you want to see the negative side of things you look back, whereas to see the positive side you never look at the past. I still have to work this one out... because otherwise we'd all be looking back at Inter's past..."
