STRAMACCIONI: "INTER SHOWED GREAT CHARACTER"

"We came here to play on Milan's pitch, where the Rossoneri hadn't lost yet, with the right mentality"

MILAN - After the Nerazzurri Primavera's impressive 2-0 win in this afternoon's derby (Week 19 of the Primavera championship) Andrea Stramaccioni spoke about his side's performance: "I was very happy with the character Inter showed in coming here to play on Milan's pitch, where the Rossoneri hadn't lost yet this season. That shows that we have the right mentality.

"I think our best spell was the first 35 minutes, while I must be honest and say that Milan were good in the second half. Perhaps we struggled to cope when they had impetus, maybe also because of our first-half exertions. But I was especially pleased with the way we responded after Milan started piling on the pressure. Even after we scored we maintained our attacking approach until we got the second goal that put the game to bed."

The coach also analysed his team's progress in the league: "We're playing in the most balanced group in the Campionato Primavera: there are five teams grouped together in just a few points. So far we've done well in all of the head-to-heads with our closest rivals, but we've dropped a few too many points in the other games. From here on in we can't do that any more. We don't want any more slip-ups."
