APPIANO: FIRST SESSION BEFORE CATANIA LASTS 60 MINS

Eight internationals missing (Faraoni and Julio Cesar in action tonight), 3 training separately, 5 doing rehab work

APPIANO GENTILE - The team's first training session of the week lasted 60 minutes this afternoon: there was a warm-up, technical and tactical drills and a practice match on a small pitch.

Ivan Ramiro Cordoba, Lucio and Walter Samuel trained separately while the following players continued their rehabilitation programmes: Maicon, Andrea Ranocchia and, on the pitch, Ricardo Alvarez and Fredy Guarin. Cristian Chivu worked out in the gym.

Young Primavera defender Lukas Spendlhofer joined in with first-team training today as eight Nerazzurri players are away on international duty.

Davide Faraoni (France v Italy Under 21s in Cannes, 20:50, live on Rai Sport 1) and Julio Cesar (Bosnia v Brazil in St. Gallen, Switzerland, 20:00, live on Sportitalia) will be in action tonight.

Tomorrow the following players will be involved with their respective national sides: Giampaolo Pazzini (Italy v USA in Genoa), Wesley Sneijder (England v Netherlands), Diego Forlan (Romania v Uruguay), Joel Obi (Rwanda v Nigeria), Yuto Nagatomo (Japan v Uzbekistan) and Luc Castaignos (Netherlands v Denmark Under 20s).

Tomorrow the Nerazzurri will have their second training session of the week at the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti.
