APPIANO GENTILE - With technical director Marco Branca, sporting director Piero Ausilio and vice managing director Stefano Filucchi in attendance, the team were back on the training pitch this morning at the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti to start preparing for the UEFA Champions League round of 16 match against Marseille on Wednesday 22 February (20:45).
The players were split into groups for today's session. Those who weren't much involved in yesterday's league match had a 60-minute session on the pitch. Dejan Stankovic, Walter Samuel (for 40 minutes) and Lorenzo Crisetig (who was with the Primavera team in Viareggio) all trained with this group.
The Nerazzurri who played last night did recovery work on the pitch, in the gym or in the pool.
Diego Milito worked separately having shaken off the flu. Ricardo Alvarez had an individual workout in the gym. Fredy Guarin and Juan followed personalised programmes to help them return to full match fitness.
