STRAMACCIONI: "REGRET REMAINS, PERHAPS..."

"We deserved a victory. We created a lot and made too many mistakes. Now we'll quickly turn the page"

QUARRATA (Pistoia) - Andrea Stramaccioni commented to Inter Channel after the Primavera's elimination from the 64th edition of the Viareggio Tournament. "There's a lot of regret; for the second time this year [including the elimination from the Coppa Italia against Fiorentina] we've been eliminated from a competition on penalties. We're really sorry most of all because in both matches, in my opinion, we deserved to win. At the end of the first half we struggled to figure out how to reverse the situation. But we made a lot of errors trying to analyse the performance in a clear way. Inter had plenty of opportunities to score goals."

There was a statement, without any controversy, devoted to the clear handball from Yamnaine that sparked the counterattack leading to Parma's goal in the 47th minute: "Not to complain, but the referee didn't see the clear touch with his arm that could have given us the chance to unlock the match. But it was actually on a long ball that we conceded the goal that put us behind, just one second from the end of the first half. Inter come away from Viareggio unbeaten and with our heads held high, just as we came out of the Coppa Italia unbeaten."

"The league remains our primary objective. We want to get to the final eight in either first or second place. We'll head back to Milan and we'll have to quickly turn the page. The only regret is perhaps that the condition of the pitch had too much influence on the match," concluded Stramaccioni.
