APPIANO GENTILE – In a clash with Walter Gargano, Thiago Motta suffered an
injury to his left calf in the Napoli v Inter match on Wednesday. It was for
this reason this morning that, after yesterday's workout, Thiago Motta
(pictured) did not train with the group and underwent an individual session
involving treatment, physical therapy and strengthening work in the gym.
This morning at the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti in La Pinetina, Philippe
Coutinho, Lorenzo Crisetig, Lucio, Yuto Nagatomo and Giampaolo Pazzini worked
out with their team-mates: 60 minutes on the main pitch, with a warm-up,
individual technical work, ball possession exercises and a training match.
Diego Forlan and Dejan Stankovic underwent individual recovery programmes for
their respective injuries. Absent were Sulley Muntari (with Ghana in the Africa
Cup of Nations) and Paolo Tornaghi (training with the Chicago Fire).
Tomorrow morning, once again in Appiano Gentile, there will be the third and
final training session before Lecce v Inter, scheduled for Sunday 29
January 2012 at the Stadio Via del Mare (kick-off at 15:00). Following will be
lunch and a press conference with Claudio Ranieri (at 13:00 exclusively on
Inter Channel and inter.it) and then the departure of the team for Lecce.
