APPIANO GENTILE - On the eve of Napoli-Inter, we offer the full version of the
interview given by Claudio Ranieri to the microphones of RaiSport.
A very important and decisive challenge tomorrow at the San Paolo. What can you
tell us about it?
"It's a tough challenge both inside and out, between two teams that are
both in form. Last year it finished 0-0, then extra time and penalties. It will
be a beautiful game."
Napoli will have the advantage of a twelfth man; a pulsating stadium.
"That's true, but now Napoli have found their dimensions, and they play
the same way both home and away. Here at the Meazza we started very well, then
there was that rather contested penalty and the red card. They played well. But
we also have our identity and inner strength, thanks to the character and pride
of a historic group in which the lads have fit in well. It's a good
combination."
What are the difficulties of this game?
"There are several. Now we need to see how we can manage to respond to a
team blow for blow that wants you to play at the San Paolo in order to hit you
on the break. It won't be easy."
Can we expect a Napoli in full force with the return of Lavezzi, Hamsik and
Cavani?
"I also expect Pandev, whose form has been very significant lately."
Will tomorrow be Wesley Sneijder's game?
"We'll see tomorrow."
Is this challenge also useful to continue to do well in the league?
"It's a challenge that's useful in advancing, to get to the semi-finals:
may the best team win."
How hard is it to replace someone like Thiago Motta?
"I think he's staying here. That's what we're all hoping for."
