APPIANO: 1ST SESSION BEFORE NAPOLI

Two groups at work after the victory against Lazio and before the Coppa Italia quarter-final

APPIANO GENTILE – The first training session of the week was held this morning at the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti in La Pinetina. After the league win over Lazio, Inter coach Claudio Ranieri is preparing for the match against Napoli in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals, scheduled for Wednesday 25 January 2012 at the Stadio San Paolo in Fuorigrotta (20:45 kick-off).

The Nerazzurri players who saw the most action in last night's match at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza underwent a regenerative session. The second group underwent a session of approximately 60 minutes, and after the warm-up they performed technical and tactical exercises, ball possession work and a training match.

Cristian Chivu did work on the pitch with the second group. There was treatment for Yuto Nagatomo after the regenerative session. Philippe Coutinho, Diego Forlan and Dejan Stankovic underwent individual sessions focusing on the recovery of their respective injuries. Sulley Muntari is currently with the Ghana national team at the Africa Cup of Nations. Paolo Tornaghi was away on an excused absence.

Tomorrow, Tuesday 24 January, there will be a morning training session in Appiano Gentile. The departure for Naples is scheduled for Wednesday.
