INTER CLUBS: ICCC CONFERENCE, THE NUMBERS

Bedy Moratti opens the annual event where organised fan groups meet the Club

MILAN – The Inter Club Coordination Centre (ICCC) conference for Regional and Provincial Coordinators has just begun at the Hotel Melià in Milan.

The annual event is an opportunity for organised fan groups to interact with the Club, discuss the current season and plan initiatives for the next year.

The opening speech was made by the Coordination Centre's honorary president Bedy Moratti, who is proud of the affection shown by Nerazzurri fans and the numbers that attest the success of an institution Inter has always had great belief in, currently run by coordinators Sergio Spairani and Fausto Sala. Chief executive Ernesto Paolillo and stadium area and security director Pierfrancesco Barletta were also present.

There are 1,013 Inter Clubs at present with a total of 117,631 members (101,788 seniors and 15,843 juniors), 12,62% of whom are women. 100 clubs have more than 200 members and 18 have more than 500 members.

In terms of age, the group with the most members is the 15-30 age range (24.52%), followed by the 51-65 group (22.67%). 2% of members are aged 0-6, a sign that the passion for Nerazzurri colours is passed on from birth.

Comparing the number of clubs in each region, the top ten are Lombardia Mi (87), Puglia (80), Veneto (71), abroad (70), Sicilia (69), Campania (51), Calabria (48), Toscana (47), Abruzzo (40), Lazio (40). Lombardia Mi also has the most members: 10,789.

Moving down to club level, the one with the most members is Inter Club Stradella (1511), followed by Forlì (1026), Maltignano (1000), Malta (915), Pescara (903), Roccaspinalveti (838), Taranto Cambiasso (721), Giulianova (690), I Templari (680) and Carmignano (655).

67 new clubs have opened so far in the 2011/12 season, most notably Inter Club Maltignano (Ascoli Piceno), who already have 1000 members, hoisting them up to third place in the previous list.

Another encouraging figure is the increasing number of Inter Clubs abroad: 70 with 7,236 members. Three new foreign clubs have been set up so far this year and among the newcomers are two clubs from previously unrepresented countries: Interisti svedesi from Sweden (185 members) and Albania (182 members); the third is Giappone from Japan, where two clubs already existed.
