APPIANO: WORKING TOWARDS LAZIO IN TWO GROUPS

Chivu trained along with the team-mates who hadn't played against Genoa. Tornaghi: a course in the USA

APPIANO GENTILE - This morning saw the first training session after the Coppa Italia win and also the first in preparation for Inter v Lazio, scheduled for Sunday 22 January at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milan's San Siro district (kick-off 20:45).

There were two groups working this morning at the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti: the first was made up of players who had taken part to a great extent in last night's match against Genoa and they underwent individual muscle regeneration activities; the second was composed of all the other available Nerazzurri, including Cristian Chivu, and they worked on the pitch for about 65 minutes (warm-up, tactical and athletic drills and mini matches).

Philippe Coutinho (suffering from back pains) had a specific session. Dejan Stankovic followed a personalised recovery programme. Diego Forlan had therapy, physiotherapy and specific work on his injury. Sulley Muntari is with his Ghana team-mates for the African Cup of Nations.

There were birthday celebrations for Lorenzo Crisetig and best wishes for Paolo Tornaghi (pictured). The 24-year-old keeper, who came through the ranks at Inter, returned to the club after playing for Como (for 2 seasons) and Rimini and tomorrow he's flying off to the USA. With the club's authorisation, Tornaghi will be spending two weeks with the Chicago Fire who are at Fort Myers in Florida where the club from Bridgeview, Illinois are preparing for their next season in the Major League.
