MORATTI: "THE RESULT IS A REWARD FOR OUR EFFORT"

"Well done to Ranieri and the team for coming out of such a bad situation so convincingly. And Zanetti..."

MILAN - (ANSA) "The result is certainly a reward for Ranieri's work and effort. He's picked the team up again." Inter president Massimo Moratti - interviewed by Sky Sport Italia after the derby victory, though he wasn't at the Stadio Meazza with the team - offered a public appraisal of his coach.

"This was the most important match and I think the team responded well. I was impressed by their character and especially by Zanetti - he runs around like a kid. Milito is back to his lethal form of old."

This win also propels Inter back into the running for the Scudetto, six points behind Juve and five behind Milan. "Credit to these lads who have shown fantastic character," Moratti added. I didn't really believe it that much myself when we were fifth from bottom; in times like that you live in hope. But credit where it's due for coming out of such a bad situation so convincingly.

"Ranieri? A wise man. He knows how to get his ideas across to the players and how to get them behind him and earn their confidence.

"The transfer market? I see that Ranieri has faith in this group. Tevez? He could be the right choice, we'll see." (ANSA)
