STRAMACCIONI: "A GREAT WAY TO KICK OFF 2012"

"We showed we're determined to get back to the top of the table. Now we must focus on Varese, a six-pointer"

BRESSO - "We wanted to get the league campaign going again with a win and now we've started the new year by laying down a marker and showing how determined we are to get back to the top of the table." Andrea Stramaccioni was pleased with his side's 4-1 win in their Week 14 fixture against Cittadella this afternoon.

He went on: "We must immediately turn our attentions to Wednesday because Varese will provide us with the tough test; they are the current vice champions of Italy. The winner will move to the top of the table so it's a six-pointer in every sense. We'll go into it in peak form physically and psychologically."

With the transfer window currently open Stramaccioni was asked if he expected to see any movement. He replied: "This is the Inter team that I want in terms of the football being played and the players' approach to the game; they can up the pace and play at a high tempo or slow things down when required. More than the numbers I think what's important is the type of football being produced on the pitch and how well the players can reproduce the coach's ideas."
