RANIERI ON RAI SPORT: "ME, THE ETERNAL OPTIMIST"

"I've always seen the glass as being half full. Now the challenge is to add quality with Sneijder and Forlan"

APPIANO GENTILE - "Winning games and getting good results is always satisfying. I get on really well with these lads, who have got themselves back up the table through determination and hard work, by knuckling down and just getting on with it." Claudio Ranieri was speaking to Thomas Villa in an interview for Rai Sport.

"I've never had negative thoughts," he continued. "I've always been optimistic and now the challenge is to add in a bit more quality to what we've done so far, with Diego Forlan and Wesley Sneijder. I don't see genius or madness, just the desire to take Inter back to the top. I stand by the mark of 6+ [out of 10] that I gave to the team, and a higher mark in the Champions League because we didn't have many games to turn things around. A player's age doesn't matter. An example? Seeing Javier Zanetti close up is incredible: he's the first to arrive and the last one to leave, a fantastic example to all of us."
