INTER VS. TORINO: STATS AND TRIVIA

MILAN - Inter are coming home. Walter Mazzarri’s Torino will be the visitors for the home match of the season. Together with Opta, here are all the statistics ahead of the match at 20:30 CEST on Sunday.

There have been 148 prior meetings between Inter and Torino in Serie A. The Nerazzurri have won 65, lost 35 and there have been 48 draws. This will be the 75th meeting in the top flight between Inter and Torino at the Stadio Meazza. At home, Inter have won 38, lost 11 and drawn 25. Inter are the side who conceded the fewest goals in the first 30 minutes of games during the 2017-18 Serie A season with just six against. Last season, the Nerazzurri scored 15 headed goals, more than any other side. Inter also scored the most goals from crosses with 19, ten more than Torino.

In five Serie A matches at the Meazza against Torino, Mauro Icardi has played an active role in four goals with three goals and an assist. Marcelo Brozovic is the player who touched the ball the most (133) and made the most passes (108) in the first round of Serie A fixtures. Antonio Candreva has scored three goals against Torino in Serie A, including the first of his three braces in the competition (April 2014 for Lazio). Keita has also scored against Torino in Serie A, finding the net against the Granata in March 2017. Danilo D’Ambrosio made his Serie A debut for Torino, playing 42 times for the Granata in Serie A and 74 times in Serie B. Daniele Padelli was a Torino player between 2013 and 2016, overall he made over 100 appearances for the club. Kwadwo Asamoah and Tommaso Berni both also spent time at the Granata but neither featured in the top flight for the Piedmontese outfit.

On the other hand, Cristian Ansaldi played for Inter in the 2016-17 season. He made 21 appearances for the Nerazzurri in Serie A, providing one assist. Adem Ljajic also previously played for Inter, making 25 appearances in the 2015-16 season scoring three and delivering three assists.

Luciano Spalletti has won six of his eleven matches against Walter Mazzarri in Serie A, drawing two and losing three. Against Torino, Spalletti’s sides have won seven of the previous 15 match-ups in the top flight along with four draws and as many defeats.
