INTER ON INSTAGRAM: NEAR TO THE FANS WITH 'CLOSER'

For Inter, being on social media means being near to the fans and this can be seen on the Instagram profile with the Closer concept

MILAN - Inter Media House is a transformational process at Inter, an ambitious project with an eye on the standards at international sports clubs. The results can be seen in the figures as the Inter brand continues to grow in Italy and across the world. Following the launch of the new shows on Inter TV, the restyling of the YouTube channel, the ‘he110, this is Inter’ project, Inter Social Night and the launch of the official app, it’s now the turn of Instagram to undergo a substantial reboot. 

‘Closer’ is the creative drive behind the content strategy on Instagram. Beyond the sporting passion and loyalty of the fans, Inter has identified a way to bring supporters even closer to the team.

The profile shows photos from a very close perspective, immersing users into the dynamism of sport and celebrating the physicality of the sportspeople while celebrating the action with statuesque and captivating aesthetics. 

It’s an idea which also allows for greater interaction on the profile. Every piece of ‘Closer’ content is in fact the cover for a slideshow which when swiped, will show the entire image or a series of related photos. 

"In itself, the idea is simple but that’s not to say that it’s banal. We understood that beyond the initiatives that we run every day on social media, that we need to allow the fans to come closer so that we can be near to our fans from all over the world." These were the comments from Inter’s Head of Communication Robert Faulkner. 

But, Inter have gone even further with the relaunch of the Instagram channel.

For the first time, the team are showing their support for the fans!

Inter identified the Facebook profiles of some of the most passionate fans and replied to them with personalised videos recorded by the players themselves. Each player personally encourages a fan to live out their passion. For example, Rafinha encouraged Basing L. to keep playing the guitar which is a passion they both have in common. 

It all shows that for Inter, to be on social media is truly a matter of being closer.
