MILAN – Inter Club China made a little bit of history on Friday as it become the first Inter Club to have its members team up with the Nerazzurri legends of Inter Forever in a mixed friendly match held at the Suning Training Centre in memory of Giacinto Facchetti in Milan on Friday.

The eight-a-side match featured fans from Beijing and elsewhere, with the lucky members able to meet and take to the field with Inter Forever director Francesco Toldo and Inter greats Giuseppe Baresi, Riccardo Ferri and Benito Carbone. Inter Channel were there to capture the action, as were Titan Sports from China.

"It’s been a great day with the members," Riccardo Ferri told Inter Channel. "There’s been a fantastic sprit to the morning so let’s hope it’s a good omen for this weekend."

Giuseppe Baresi echoed Ferri’s sentiments: "My team lost but it’s been a very enjoyable morning with Inter Club China. These people are fans first and foremost – they cheer us on from the other side of the planet so we’re delighted to have been able to get involved with this event for them."

Benito Carbone couldn’t resist teasing Francesco Toldo after the former’s free-kick caught the goalkeeper by surprise: "I wasn’t expecting an error like that from Francesco on a freekick. We had great fun and I’m sure the fans have had an unforgettable morning after coming all that way. This is a fantastic initiative and we hope to do it again some time, because they were really passionate about Inter."
