ALTOPASCIO – Inter Primavera are in the Viareggio Cup quarter-finals following a 4-0 defeat of Cagliari in the Round of 16 on Wednesday afternoon.
Stefano Vecchi’s side started strongly and were ahead inside five minutes. From a corner, Carraro gathered the ball on the edge of the box before dispatching a left-footed effort past Crosta and into the back of the net for 1-0.
The Nerazzurri doubled their lead on the quarter hour, Rover winning the ball deep inside the Cagliari half and supplying a perfect cross for Butic to head home.
The third goal followed on 33 minutes, Rover once again picking out Butic in the centre for the Inter No.9 to dispatch another header. And the scoring was complete four minutes before half time as Gravillon headed in for 4-0 from Carraro’s free-kick.
Vecchi’s youngsters will face either Fiorentina or Sassuolo in the quarter-finals.
