KONDOGBIA: "CONFIDENCE HIGH AHEAD OF JUVENTUS GAME"

Our No.7 is fired up for Sunday's visit to Turin after a battling second-half showing against Lazio: "We pulled out all the stops trying to find an equaliser"

APPIANO GENTILE – Geoffrey Kondogbia feels Inter can take heart from the never-say-die attitude they showed against Lazio heading into Sunday's big match against Juventus.

He also insists that, despite Tuesday's setback, the Nerazzurri remain high on confidence following a string of convincing recent displays.

"We're a bit disappointed to be out of the cup because we wanted to win it and we pulled out all the stops trying to find an equaliser,” he told Inter Channel the day after the Coppa Italia quarter-final. “We kept going right to the end so we're pleased with the attitude we showed. It's just a shame about the result.”

Looking ahead to the league game against the Bianconeri, Kondogbia added: “You never know what can happen in 90 minutes. We've looked pretty good in our last few outings so we'll go to Turin with our heads held high and try to come away with a result. We'll have to cut down on the mistakes though, because you pay for those in games like this.

“You never know what can happen in football. We have to focus on each game as it comes so we'll work on this one first and then the next one.”

The 23-year-old also commented on his own development since joining the club in the summer of 2015.

"I've worked hard these last 18 months and I feel I've improved but I have to improve further. That's what I'm working to do.”
