MILAN - Inter Campus would like to take the opportunity provided by Universal Children's Day to remind the world of the right that all children have to play.
The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, approved by the United Nations on 20 November 1989, says: "Children have the right to relax and play, and to join in a wide range of cultural, artistic and other recreational activities."
Through its work on the field in 29 countries across the globe, Inter Campus restores this right to play to disadvantaged youths.
Playing is a fundamental part of any individual's growth yet many children in the world are deprived of this right. Instead they are forced to help with their parents' work, raise younger brothers or sisters, go to work themselves and in some cases even carry out illegal activities.
Thanks to the game of football, our coaches and the Inter shirt, Inter Campus children are offered the chance to do the things they should be doing in their free time – like enjoying themselves.
Children have the right to play and it's also the best way for them to learn.
