MIRANDA LOOKS AHEAD TO THREE KEY GAMES

"We need to keep working hard. Vecchi prepared us for the game really well – he’ll be a great coach," said the Brazilian defender after the game

MILAN Joao Miranda was in no mood for dwelling on Inter’s 3-0 win over Crotone on Sunday night, instead calling for his team-mates to begin focusing on the challenges that await them.

"We did what the coach asked us to do and now we need to keep working hard to take Inter back to where the club needs to be," said Miranda after the final whistle.

"We have three great matches coming up, but we have to take them one at a time," continued the Brazilian. "First up is AC Milan, who are doing well at the moment, but we need to keep this going and get the three points.

"The coach has done a good job in a difficult situation. He prepared the team well and analysed the opposition closely. He’s definitely going to be a great manager."

Miranda insisted that the Nerazzurri can still achieve their objectives this season – if they put the hard work in.

"We’re a long way off but our goal is still to qualify for the Champions League. We’ll go off for international duty with a little more confidence now but we know we have to work hard – that’s the only way to change this situation. The internationals will work hard with their national teams and the others will stay here and probably work with a new coach.

"We have a bit of time to focus on improving and trying to get ourselves up the table – to do that we need to keep it tight at the back. The new coach will find a group of players ready to work hard ahead of the derby," said the Inter defender.
