ICARDI: "WE ALL WANTED THE VICTORY"

"We created a lot and we just needed one to go in. Everyone understands the importance of this win," said the Nerazzurri skipper after the game

MILAN – Late strikes from Ivan Perisic and two from Mauro Icardi ensured Inter got back to winning ways this evening against Crotone at San Siro.

Inter's captain was delighted with the team's effort in what could be a turning point for the club.

"It's my job to score goals," he began after the game. "I'm pleased for Perisic's goal as well; it's a good sign. We created loads of chances and we wanted this victory to go into the international break in a calmer frame of mind. We needed it and everyone has understood the importance of this moment.

"Now we need to carry on working. We've got two weeks ahead of us and we'll do everything we can during the international break to ensure we're in top condition come the derby.

"As for the new coach, that's the club's decision and not mine," Icardi concluded. "As I've always said, we've got a fantastic group of lads here. We're young and talented, but sometimes we're lacking a bit of nous to ensure we're more clinical on the pitch. We need to improve in this respect."
