PRIMAVERA SUPER CUP: ROMA 4-0 INTER

A Marchizza penalty in the first half, plus two from Tumminello and a Keba strike in the second win the game for the Giallorossi

ROME – It was a tough evening for Stefano Vecchi's boys at the Stadio Olimpico, as Roma won the Primavera Super Cup 4-0.

After a balanced first half that was only separated by a Riccardo Marchizza penalty, Marco Tumminello came alive after half-time to swing the contest in the Giallorossi's favour. The young striker scored a brace before Keba Coly added one late on.

The Giallorossi started the better side and forced Michele Di Gregorio into an early save, but after that there were plenty of chances for both sides and Andrea Pinamonti in particular forced Lorenzo Crisanto into a superb near-post save.

The deadlock was broken after 37 minutes when Andrew Gravillon fouled the ever-threatening Keba Coly in the box and the referee pointed to the spot. Lorenzo Marchizza stepped up and although De Gregorio guessed the right way and got a hand to it, he couldn't manage to prevent the goal.

Inter pushed for the equaliser in the second half and left themselves exposed in the 62nd minute when Keba drove at the Nerazzurri defence before laying it off for Tumminello to bury in the far corner.

Vecchi's boys refused to give up and tested Crisanto again through a powerful header from Zinho Vanheusden with fifteen minutes to go. Unfortunately, Roma marched straight up the other end and scored themselves, Tumminello heading in a Keba cross. The Senegalese got himself on the scoresheet with three minutes to go.

The Primavera Super Cup remains a cursed chalice for Inter, but the club should nevertheless be proud of its 15th final in the last five years.
