APPIANO GENTILE – Frank de Boer has called on Inter to bounce back from Sunday’s disappointing loss to Cagliari when the Europa League returns to San Siro on Thursday night.
"We need to stick together as a team and maintain a positive attitude because we want to win tomorrow night," said De Boer, speaking to Sky Sport 24 ahead of the home clash with Southampton. "We have to send a message. I want to see a really strong performance.
"The most important thing is the philosophy we want to play with,” continued the Inter coach. “In my eyes it’s only a matter of time before we start winning football matches. There’s a lot of pressure because we need to be winning, but that’s normal in football.
"We want to see a good performance. We just need to keep playing our game and stay disciplined. It's not just about working hard – we have to maintain the same philosophy right until the final whistle."
De Boer was then asked about the situation regarding some of the fans and Mauro Icardi.
"It was a strange situation on Sunday and we have to learn from these things in order to avoid them in the future. I’m full of motivation and energy and I want to improve the situation."
