CHARLOTTE – Inter face off against Bayern Munich this evening in their fourth and final summer friendly on US soil.
The match will be played at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, the home of NFL team the Carolina Panthers.
Bayern Munich president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is a former Inter player himself, donning the Nerazzurri jersey for three seasons between 1984 and 1987.
Carlo Ancelotti was recently appointed as the German champions' new coach – and lost to his former club AC Milan on penalties in the International Champions Cup earlier this week.
Inter and Bayern have met seven times in competitive fixtures with results tied at three wins apiece and a draw.
The one Nerazzurri fans remember most fondly is of course the 2010 Champions League final in Madrid, when Diego Milito's double saw Inter cap off a perfect season by becoming the only Italian club ever to do the treble – winning Serie A, Coppa Italia and Champions League in the same year.
Inter v Bayern Munich kicks off at 17:00 local time (23:00 CEST). Ticketing info can be found here.
