INTER IN CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA

Nerazzurri visit the Queen City for the final leg of their US tour, home to the Carolina Panthers and Michael Jordan's Hornets

CHARLOTTE – Inter begin the final leg of their summer tour in Charlotte, North Carolina today, with a meeting against Bayern Munich scheduled for 17:00 local time (23:00 CEST) at Bank of America Stadium tonight.

North Carolina is in the south-east of the United States. Raleigh is the capital, while Charlotte has the biggest population.

Duke University, one of the USA's most prestigious colleges - eighth in the National Universities Rankings in 2016 - is located in Durham.

The Nerazzurri's International Champions Cup clash with Bayern is to take place at the home of NFL franchise the Carolina Panthers, who played in this year's Super Bowl. The Panthers' Cam Newton was named MVP of the regular season.

Charlotte also has an NBA team, the Hornets. Indeed, the city is nicknamed The Hornet's Nest after its rebellion during the American Revolutionary War.

Basketball legend Michael Jordan, who began his career at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is the current owner of the Hornets.
