MILAN – The 2015/16 season was certainly a memorable one for Inter Primavera captain Fabio Della Giovanna.
The young defender was instrumental as Stefano Vecchi’s side won the Primavera Coppa Italia at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, beating Fabio Grosso’s Juventus on 13 April.
And there was more to come as Della Giovanna made his first-team debut in Inter’s last game of the season against Sassuolo at Mapei Stadium on 14 May. It was an important moment for the Nerazzurri youngster, who has worked his way up through the Inter youth ranks and looks set to achieve big things in the future.
"It was the longest ten minutes of my life. Making my Serie A debut was one of my dreams and I’ve managed to realise it. For someone who started in the Pulcini squad this is the culmination of a cycle. There’s still a long way to go, but this is the first step," was how 19-year-old defender summed up the experience.
