MILAN – Geoffrey Kondogbia finished his first season in the black and blue of Inter with 30 appearances in all competitions and over 2400 minutes under his belt. The Frenchman was also the best player in Roberto Mancini’s squad in terms of dribbling and tackles won.
Kondogbia began the season well, starting Inter’s opening five games – and winning them all. It didn’t take long for the Frenchman to hit top form: on 20 September at the Stadio Bentegodi, Kondogbia crowned an impressive performance with an assist for Mauro Icardi to score the winner against Chievo.
A few weeks later, at Torino’s Stadio Olimpico, it was Kondogbia’s turn to score a vital goal as he swept home to break his Inter duck and hand the Nerazzurri an important 1-0 win over the Granata.
Perhaps the highlight of Kondogbia’s season was his imperious performance in Inter’s crucial 2-0 win over Napoli at San Siro on 16 April. The Frenchman’s classy showing earned him a standing ovation from the Nerazzurri faithful when he took his leave from the pitch on 70 minutes.
