MILAN – Having touched down in Italy at the end of the summer transfer window, Alex Telles went on to make 22 appearances in all competitions for Inter, donning the Nerazzurri jersey for a total of 1726 minutes.
Telles’ Inter debut was something of a baptism of fire: it was Week 3 of the league season and the Nerazzurri were taking on AC Milan, their fiercest rivals, in the Derby della Madonnina. Telles took to the field in the 68th minute in place of Juan Jesus as Inter secured a 1-0 win to triumph in the 163rd Milan derby.
The Brazilian followed up his maiden appearance with some solid showings in the weeks that followed, cementing his place in Roberto Mancini’s plans. Indeed, his pinpoint cross for Felipe Melo to head home the winner against Hellas Verona in Week 5 proved to be one of the highlights of the campaign.
Telles also starred in Inter’s 4-0 wins over Frosinone and Udinese.
