LJAJIC: "WE CAN CAUSE PROBLEMS FOR ANYONE"

The Nerazzurri No.22 on Roma v Inter: "It's a shame because we could have won. There are a lot of matches to play and our objective is third place"

ROME Adem Ljajic was next up to comment on Inter's 1-1 draw against his former team-mates earlier on this evening.

"The final scoreline is hard to take because we played well for 85 minutes of the game. We could have got the victory and then we would have been two points behind Roma, but their equaliser came out of nothing. Nevertheless, we mustn't forget that we drew against a top team at a very difficult place to go.

"We're frustrated at the points we dropped in January and February. We weren't expecting that dip, but these things happen in football.

"Nothing is out of reach and we have loads of matches still to play. We're back playing as we know we can do and we're feeling good. We pulled ourselves together after the Juventus game and bounced back. If we carry on playing in this way, we can be a handful for any team.

"There are a few teams fighting it out for third spot but there's a long way still to go. We hope we can do it – that's the aim we've set ourselves."

The Serbian also revealed his emotions at returning to Rome: "It's always a pleasure coming back to the capital, I love this city and I have so many friends here. I was feeling emotional but as soon as the whistle went to begin the game, I was only focused on Inter and helping my team-mates. I think I did well but it's a shame we didn't win."

Ljajic wrapped up the interview with a word on his future: "I hope I can stay here because I really like playing for Inter. It doesn't depend on me however. I'm just thinking about doing well in training and performing at the top of my ability on the pitch. We'll assess things at the end of the season."
