MILAN – On Saturday 12 March 2016, as the Nerazzurri took on Bologna at San Siro, F.C. Internazionale hosted the culmination of Io Tifo Positivo – Nel Segno di Candido, a local charitable initiative that the club collaborates on together with the Cannavò Foundation, Comunità Nuova and the City of Milan.
The aim of the project is to educate youngsters about good sporting culture via an educational programme designed to raise awareness on the prevention of violence and racism among sports fans. The initiative helps young people learn about mutual respect, loyalty and working together.
The project had been underway for several months in schools and sports clubs in the Milan area and reached its climax with a match-day experience at the stadium. It was the end of the journey: the youngsters – accompanied by their parents – were able to attend a large sporting event, but it wasthe kids who set a good example for their parents with positive slogans and messages designed to provide passionate, well-mannered support.
More than 1500 young people have participated in the project over the course of the year and over 800 of them were at San Siro on Saturday night. At half-time, a small group of youngsters took to the hallowed turf to show off some of the work they’ve completed during the initiative.
