MILAN – In Inter circles, Giovanni Trapattoni will always be remembered as the manager who led the Nerazzurri to the record-breaking Scudetto triumph of 1989/90.
The numbers still look as good today as they did back then: 58 points from a possible 68, an 11-point winning margin over the second-placed team and both the best attack and the best defence in the league.
It meant Trapattoni helped Inter win their 13th Scudetto title and their first in nine years. The iconic manager also lifted the 1989 Italian Super Cup and the 1990/91 UEFA Cup during his stay in the Nerazzurri dugout.
On the day of his 77th birthday, Inter Forever and indeed everyone at F.C. Internazionale come together to say a huge happy birthday to an Inter legend.
