INTER WIN THE 2016 NIKE PREMIER CUP

Bellinzaghi's Under-15s claim the spoils thanks to a 2-0 win over Roma in the final. Vergani hits both goals

CITTÀ SANT'ANGELO - The 2016 Nike Premier Cup is brandished with black and blue. Stefano Bellinzaghi's Under-15s beat Roma 2-0 in Sunday's final to cap a flawless run in the competition. They opened up with group stage victories over Udinese and Cesena before knockout wins over Palermo and Atalanta respectively.

Inter sealed victory in the competition for boys born in 2001 with two second-half strikes after an even opening period. Vergani broke the deadlock with a header four minutes into the second half from Ansani's cross.

The game became more physical but Inter controlled the contest and doubled their lead in stoppage time, as Vergani won the ball back in midfield before leaving opposition players trailing in his wake. His second goal secured victory, allowing Inter to go one better than last year.
