MILAN - "We performed really well tonight. It's important to have won and brought home the three points. If we keep playing like this, we can finish third." Adem Ljajic chatted to the media following Inter's victory over Palermo.
The Serbian forward, who opened the scoring, answered some questions about his position: "We played a 4-4-2 tonight, I started wide on the right but the coach asked me to come back inside to help us move the ball. My natural position is in the hole but there's nothing odd about the coach asking me to operate elsewhere if he thinks I can perform well. I played well for two to three months, then I wasn't involved as much. Now, however, I'm training at 100%, I've got my confidence back and producing my best football."
The race is on for third place: "It's hard to say how it will finish at this moment in time. I know Roma very well, they have some excellent individual talent and at the start of the season they were earmarked as one of the favourites for the title. But there's also Fiorentina, who play good football. We're in the running and if we keep playing like this we can achieve our goal. As for my future, I'm just thinking about Inter at the moment, now we hope to reproduce the form we showed over the first six months of the season."
Ljajic included all his team-mates in celebrating his opener: "After I scored I went to hug Brozovic and all of the lads on the bench, who are very important for the team. They all deserve to play but only 11 of us can go out there."
