MILAN – It was a special day for Javier Zanetti today as Zanetti Story – the film all about the Inter legend – was launched on DVD and Blu-Ray at the San Siro Store.
Yet Zanetti’s first thoughts were to pay tribute to Giammaria Visconti di Modrone, the former Inter vice president (1995-1999) who passed away today at the age of 80: "We lost a great Inter fan today. My thoughts are with his family. He was a wonderful person and the first to welcome me when I arrived in Milan."
Zanetti then answered a few questions about the film itself: "I feel a real connection with lots of moments in the film, but the most special parts are the things my father says. He’s always helped to guide me, even when I came to Italy. I remember he prepared a bag for me with my boots in. It’s those moments you don’t forget.
"I want to thank Inter and everybody who has made all this possible. I had 20 incredible years at this club and I still feel a responsibility to represent these colours around the world. Every day, I get a better understanding of what it means to be part of the Inter family and I hope to continue being of use to the club."
The first round of copies of Zanetti Story sold out in just over an hour.
