MILAN – The first InterNos show of the new season got off to a bang this afternoon with special guest Felipe Melo, who has already won the hearts of the Nerazzurri fans after his dominant performance in the derby. Appearing in the Inter Channel studios alongside Roberto Scarpini and Nagaja Beccalossi, the Brazilian midfielder answered fan questions sent in via email, text and Twitter.
After choosing Il Comandante as his new nickname, Melo then spoke about Inter’s start to the season and expectations for the future: "Playing in the Milan derby was a unique feeling. I believe that all teams need players with heart and talent. I’m in the right place, a place where all of us can help the team achieve its objectives via hard work."
Melo certainly proved that with a sterling display against AC Milan at San Siro on Sunday: "I missed pre-season here but I train even during the holidays. I’d been away from the field of play for a bit but I will get better with every game. Starting with a win in the derby was fantastic. My team-mates have really helped me to adapt but now we need to focus on our upcoming games."
The Brazilian was also keen to clear up his comments about Balotelli after the derby: "He’s a great player and you have to stay very close to him, press him hard and not give him any time to play. He’s a fantastic footballer and can score at any time."
Tune into Inter Channel this evening at 21:00 CEST to catch the InterNos show in full!
