JOVETIC: "WE DESERVED TO WIN IT"

"We got the three points and that's all that matters. Never played in a derby with such an atmosphere before"

MILAN - Stevan Jovetic feels Inter were good value for their win over AC Milan and says he couldn't help but be impressed by the derby atmosphere at the Stadio Meazza.

"I'd played at San Siro lots of times before with Fiorentina but I'd never seen it this full. And I've played in Manchester derbies but they weren't like this," he told journalists after the game.

On the match itself: "We won today and got the three points and that's all that matters. Both sides had chances but I think we deserved it in the end."

The Nerazzurri are now the only Serie A side still on maximum points but Stevan isn't getting crried away. "We have an excellent team and we've got off to a cracking start but we're only three games in. We need to keep going one match at a time. We must focus on Chievo now. We're aiming for the top three but we'll see where we are in March and if we can maybe aim a bit higher."

After starting all three of Inter's games this season, he admitted that he's enjoying his new-found continuity: "I hadn't been playing very regularly since leaving Florence. Today I was a bit tired after the travelling and my two games with Montenegro but I'm pleased with my performance, especially in the first half. As a striker you need to be mean so you can both set up team-mates and score goals."
