RISCONE DI BRUNICO – Nerazzurri midfielder Hernanes gave his take on Inter’s first friendly of the 2014/15 season after they beat Stuttgarter Kickers 4-3 this afternoon: “It’s good to start with a win and lots of goals. We can’t give anything away this season. Now we need to look for consistency.
"There’s a long way to go to get to the level we want. I’m expecting big things and it’s right that we have high expectations. I’m expecting myself to make a big contribution for the club. Some great players have arrived, especially Kondogbia, who’ll give us even more aggressiveness, substance and quality. He’s talented with and without the ball," explained the Brazilian.
Some have speculated over a possible Hernanes exit this summer, but the man himself was quick to pour cold water on the suggestion: "Nobody has contacted me about a move. There are always rumours but I want to achieve big things here."
Hernanes then spoke about the club’s objectives going forward: "The Scudetto is winnable. We’re coming together a team – last year we created a solid base to build from. The new arrivals are settling in well, even if they don’t speak the language they feel right at home here straight away. That’s important."
Don’t forget, Inter take on newly promoted Serie A side Carpi in Riscone di Brunico on Wednesday at 17:30 CET!
