PALERMO – Danilo D’Ambrosio spoke to Inter Channel’s Roberto Scarpini after the match at the Stadio Renzo Barbera in Sicily.
The Nerazzurri defender gave us his view on his own performance before moving on to a more general analysis of the game itself: “I started well, but after we conceded they shut up shop and I didn’t see much of the ball. That meant that I couldn’t play my game. We’ll analyse the match later – we’re already thinking about Wednesday night.”
D’Ambrosio went on to discuss the result: “Was it a fair draw? Palermo started very brightly and got their noses in front. That made the game a bit of an uphill struggle for us and they had us exactly where they wanted us. As I said before, they closed down the spaces very well.”
“We had a few chances to nick the win, especially in the last seconds when Sorrentino pulled off a wonder save from Osvaldo. Having said that, they did hit the crossbar, and given how the match panned out I’d say it was a fair draw in the end.”
“We started well at home against Sassuolo and in the Europa League qualifiers, but our aim is to be winning every game.”
