KOVACIC: "WE'LL CONTINUE DOWN OUR PATH"

Nerazzurri midfielder after draw at Palermo: "Icardi’s goal should have stood"

PALERMO - It was an impartial sense of satisfaction for Mateo Kovacic after this evening’s match against Palermo. When speaking to the press, the Croat stressed he was glad about the goal he scored tonight – his fifth so far this season – but noted the difficulties in a game Inter wanted to win at all costs.

"My goal seemed like an easy one but Osvaldo did an excellent job with his movement," he began.

Mateo then expressed his feelings on Icardi’s disallowed goal: "For me it was a valid goal. However, we need to continue down this path and keep making progress with each match.

"I’ve been training hard, even last season when I got less playing time. I’ve made improvements in my defending and shooting. I have time to get even better since I’m still young.

"We had to win today but unfortunately that’s how football goes. Our thoughts are already on Atalanta."

Finally, a word on Medel: "Things are going great with Gary. We’re not scared of losing the ball. It was a fantastic move by the club to land him. Now I can be more decisive and waste less energy."
