INTER 2-2 BOLOGNA

Icardi's double not enough to get three points: the Nerazzurri are twice pegged back then miss from the spot

MILAN – Inter and Bologna shared the spoils at the Meazza in front of Erick Thohir in Week 32 of Serie A. Icardi's stunning brace from wasn't enough as Bologna twice came from behind and the Nerazzurri missed the chance for a late winner when Milito saw his spot kick saved by Curci.

Mazzarri brought Ranocchia back into defence alongside Rolando and Juan Jesus, while D'Ambrosio came into midfield in place of Jonathan. Hernanes, Cambiasso, Alvarez and Nagatomo completed the midfield five. Palacio and Icardi continued in attack.

Cristian Chivu was accompanied onto the pitch by Erick Thohir before kick-off to salute the fans following the announcement in the week that he and Inter had agreed to terminate his contract. The president handed the defender a shirt with "168 thanks yous" written on it, in recognition of his appearances for the club.

The game was just six minutes old when Inter got their noses in front. Nagatomo centred for Icardi, who met the ball on the half-volley and thumped it into the back of the net.

Bologna pressed forward, threatening only occasionally, and managed to find an equaliser on 35 minutes. Handanovic did well to keep out Natali's first effort but could do nothing to prevent Pazienza's follow-up shot fizzing past him via a deflection.

Mazzarri's men restored their lead shortly after the hour mark with a magnificent finish from Icardi. The 21-year-old collected Hernanes' pass on the edge of the box and picked his spot beautifully, firing into the opposite top corner.

Bologna drew level again in the 73rd minute when Kone pounced on the loose ball after it bounced off Rolando, but the Greek striker had pushed Cambiasso away in the process.

Ten minutes later, Inter were awarded their first penalty in 33 Serie A games as Mantovani fouled Palacio in the box. Milito stepped up but, incredibly, Curci saved it.

Handanovic spared Inter from defeat in added time, twice thwarting Acquafresca following a Bologna counter-attack.
