Happy birthday Inter!
F.C. Internazionale celebrates its 106th birthday today: the club was founded on 9 March 1908.

Rich pickings in March for Mazzarri
March is the month in which Walter Mazzarri has achieved the highest points per game average (1.66) during his professional coaching career, earned from 24 wins, 16 draws and 13 defeats in 53 matches.

Inter on longest unbeaten streak at the Meazza in a year
The Nerazzurri are currently enjoying a 10-match unbeaten run at home in competitive fixtures (won five, drawn five), their last defeat in San Siro coming at the hands of Roma (0-3 on 5 October 2013). Inter haven't gone this long without losing on home turf since the period from September 2012 to February 2013, when they put together 11 wins and five draws for a 16-game stretch without defeat.

Inter v Torino: fireworks likely at the restart
Inter and Torino are two of four Serie A sides in 2013/14 who have scored the most goals in the 15-minute spell immediately after half time. Along with Juventus and Roma, they have hit the net 10 times between the 45th and 60th minute.

Toro misfiring for 209 minutes
Torino have gone more than two games without finding the target: El Kaddouri got their last goal in the 61st minute of Verona 1-3 Torino on 17 February. No goals in the remaining 29 minutes of that match plus the full 90 in Juventus 1-0 Torino and Torino 0-2 Sampdoria means Ventura's side have been misfiring for 209 minutes.

Ventura has beaten Mazzarri just once, over 10 years ago
Walter Mazzarri and Giampiero Ventura have crossed swords nine times before today, with the current Nerazzurri coach triumphing five times, three draws and one victory for the Toro boss. Ventura's only win came in their first ever meeting: Cagliari 4-1 Livorno (Serie B) on 18 October 2003. Mazzarri's teams have scored in all nine previous match-ups, 22 goals in total.

Mazzarri unbeaten at home against Torino
Walter Mazzarri's record against Torino reads W5, D5, L1. The coach has never been beaten on home turf (W2, D3) and his sides have scored at least once in every game.

Ventura seeking first win and first clean sheet against Inter
Giampiero Ventura is pitting his wits against Inter for the 12th time as a coach this afternoon. He is yet to taste victory against the Nerazzurri, having drawn five and lost six. Inter scored on each of the previous 11 occasions, putting 30 goals past Ventura's sides. The coach made his Serie A debut in the dugout against the Nerazzurri on 13 September 1998, in Cagliari 2-2 Inter at the Stadio Sant'Elia.
