MILAN – After watching his side dispatch Varese this afternoon, Salvatore Cerrone analysed his boys' superb showing.
The Primavera coach said: "We're on the right path. During the week I told the lads I wanted them to play at a high tempo and harry our opponents. The six goals are result of a great performance. In some ways it almost looked like the perfect game: we did very little wrong, we moved very well as a unit, and that's thanks to the preparation we did for it.
"Full credit to my lads, they played very well today, although there have been other times when we've played great football too. The difference was that today we did if for 80 minutes, which is what we set out to do every game. Today everyone went out there with the right mentality.
"I told the lads to enjoy the win because tomorrow we'll start knuckling down for the Coppa Italia tie with Chievo. It's going to be tough. They're an excellent team, well drilled and they score quite a lot too – that's why they're second in our group. It's a knockout game but I think we can do well in it because we want to reach the quarters."
