INTER CAMPUS POLAND: AT WORK IN ORPHANAGES AND YOUNG OFFENDERS' INSTITUTES

Football and fun provide a break from the hardships of life: this is what Inter Campus have been up to in Poland

1/16

KRAKOW - The season is underway in Poland and the Inter Campus crew of Silvio Guareschi and Lorenzo Forneris travelled to Krakow for a week of activities. The project, run with the help of Christian Valerio in close contact with Olek Kawiorksy (a long-time associate of Inter Campus) and the Polish coaches, gives educational support through sport in a number of centres. Among these are the orphanages in Kazimierz (in the famous Jewish quarter), Sleborowice and Pawlikowice, along with the young offenders institute in Krakow.

This is all possible thanks to the Inter Campus methodology which – working in socially disadvantaged areas – makes use of human resources, through the game and an educational approach that helps to build the children's characters in the best possible way.

Our coaches also ran activities at the long-serving Inter Campus headquarters in Poland, the parish of Saint Jadwiga where Olek and his staff oversee 300 kids, allowing the youngsters to enjoy themselves and grow up with the Nerazzurri.

Many of the Polish coaches started out as sports trainers only but have now made time to follow and value children coming from difficult backgrounds. And their work on the field is starting to produce excellent results in terms of the kids' happiness and well being.
