MILAN - Sat on the sofa with a Nerazzurri blanket draped over her lap, while she slept. This is how Maria Radaelli, Europe's oldest woman, passed away in Novate Milanese. She would have been 114 tomorrow, and she loved the colours blue and black so much that she kept them with her throughout her life, even at its end.
Maria, born on 3 April 1899 in Inzago, was just about to turn 9 when Inter was founded on 9 March 1908. She may have been young but it was love at first sight when it came to Inter. And she loved the club her whole life.
Inter were there at the big party for her 113th birthday last year, and we are even closer than ever to her family at this difficult time. President Massimo Moratti and everyone at the club will never forget Maria Radaelli, a loyal and passionate fan. And we thank her for the great love she always showed the Nerazzurri.
