MILAN - A day on from his side's 1-0 home defeat to Bologna at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, president Massimo Moratti gave a brief interview to the press waiting outside his offices in the centre of Milan. Read what he had to say in full on inter.it:
You said you were angry after the Tottenham defeat. How do you feel today?
"Yesterday we sort of collapsed, especially in the first half. So it's a big disappointment, we're angry, but we need to calmly weigh things up and try to rebuild morale."
Inter have struggled recently in the first halves of matches, falling behind before then waking up. What's going on?
"I don't know. But you're right. I don't think it's done deliberately, of course. There might be an explanation for this... Perhaps they go out onto the pitch with a bit of fear. That's what I believe because I can't see any other reason why."
Does it come down to the team's preparation or is it something more psychological?
"Perhaps it's both. It eventually gets sorted out but to throw away a half of football like that... given there are only two halves in a match, it's pretty serious."
Marco Branca said before yesterday's match that he's sure both he and Stramaccioni will still be at Inter come next season. Is that the case?
"I heard that, then he said it would be up to the president to decide. I agree with him."
On Saturday you spoke about and asked for a club that was 'more Inter'. What were you referring to specifically?
"Just in terms of values, I mean what this club is all about, which is sometimes hard to understand if you're not an Interista. That's all I was saying, there's nothing more to it than that."
What could change if Inter don't secure third place?
"We'll see if and when that happens."
Do you still have faith in Stramaccioni?
"Yes."
Are you pleased with how Kovacic is doing? People claim this guy could be the future of the club.
"Given his age, and the type of project we have for him, and looking at his performance yesterday, he's a player with a clear mind and he keeps a cool head. He's got the talent, now he just needs to bring it all together."
Earlier when we spoke about Branca you said, 'I agree with him', in the sense that you will make the decisions. Does that mean you've not yet made your mind up?
"We think about these things every day. Personally I'd be happy if things were to stay as they are, only with different results."
