MORATTI: "GOOD PLAYERS AND A BRIGHT COACH"

"We're all here to fight, just a shame that once things go badly people get so negative"

IMBERSAGO (LECCO) - Massimo Moratti feels at home here in Imbersago. Even more so given the welcome he received from the many fans from Inter Club Imbersago, gathered here at the Trattoria dei Cacciatori.

People round here love to take a trip down memory lane but the Nerazzurri president also spoke about the here and now: "We're all there to fight, it's just a shame that as soon as things don't go as planned people get so negative. But we've got good players and the coach is intelligent. Things can go well until a point but then something might go wrong, be it injuries, form or refereeing decisions. I'm not saying it out of stubbornness, I think Stramaccioni is a bright coach. He works to make things run smoothly and he suffers when things don't go well."

"Things aren't going terribly but nor are they going well, but the team, the players, need to know the fans believe in them. The crowd must stay with them, make themselves heard and that's great. The players care, what's important is making the fans happy."

The president then spoke about the transfer window and Inter's project: "We got what we needed in terms of quality. Kovacic has huge potential. We're aiming to build something big, it wasn't easy to take the squad apart and rebuild it but we'll do so little by little. You can't forget the players that won everything with us. I thank the survivors of the treble-winning side for how they're behaving now, they always work hard to win and are teaching the others too.

"The project is ongoing, we're all working to develop it. Recently we've landed just the players we wanted. I'm thinking about Juan Jesus who is exceeding expectations with his performances. We were patient with Guarin and now he's showing what a great player he is. Palacio is also performing excellently. Sometimes 30% of the signings you make don't come off, but 70% do. Schelotto? Perhaps it was a mistake to play him from the start after such a long time out."
