Most common final in the history of the competition. One defeat in last 15 cup games for Nerazzurri

MILAN – Inter take on Roma at the Stadio Olimpico this evening (20:45 kick-off) in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final. inter.it previews the match with the help of Football Data's statistics.

Roma v Inter has been the most common Coppa Italia final since the competition was set up in 1922. The two sides have locked horns as finalists five times, the most recent coming in 2009 when the Nerazzurri triumphed 1-0 in Rome.

Inter have lost just one of their last 15 Coppa Italia games, which came at the hands of Napoli (2-0 away) on 25 January 2012. The other 14 matches in this recent sequence have yielded 12 wins for Inter and two draws.

Zdenek Zeman and Andrea Stramaccioni are set to pit their wits against each other for the third time, with the Czech tactician unbeaten in previous encounters (one win and one draw). The teams of both coaches scored in both previous games: in total, four for Zeman and two for Stramaccioni.

Andrea Stramaccioni is facing his former club for the third time, having worked in the Giallorossi youth academy between 2005/06 and 2010/11. The Nerazzurri coach has had one defeat and one draw against his former employers so far.
