STRAMACCIONI: "TOO EARLY TO LOOK AT OTHER RESULTS"

"I give my players the same instructions regardless of what happens elsewhere. I'll talk about transfers in January"

APPIANO GENTILE – "I give my players the same instructions whether Juventus win, lose or draw. It's far too early to be looking at the results of other teams," said Andrea Stramaccioni when asked during his press conference on Saturday if it was an advantage to be playing after Juventus.

He then added: "It might be different at the end of the season but not now. In any case the fixture list is dependent on the European games, since we play on Thursday. Will I watch Pescara v Juventus tonight? Yes, but tomorrow I'll also watch Genoa v Napoli, the Rome derby and all the games I can, for my education as a Serie A manager. What will it be like watching the Rome derby? Obviously nowadays I see everything from Milan, from a different perspective, but I have lots of friends in Rome and it's always an intense game. I'll watch it very closely. Getting back to the subject of the league table, Juventus aren't the only team. There's Napoli, Fiorentina – who if they beat AC Milan would stake a serious claim for one of the top spots – Lazio... It's still early days in every sense."

The Nerazzurri coach was also asked for a comment on Mario Balotelli: "A player of exceptional quality. He proved his worth during the European Championships with Italy. Regarding his situation in England, I don't know enough to comment."

Probed about the transfer market, Stramaccioni replied: "I'm not going to talk about transfers until 1 January. We'll speak about it after Christmas. In any case I'm extremely happy with the players I've got. I don't want to talk about our injured players, even less so those who aren't even at Inter."
