Inter close to yet another record

Inter's 2006/07 team are one victory away from matching the all time record of victories in one Serie championship, set by the Great Torino side that racked up 29 victories in 1947/48, the only Serie A season to be played with 21 teams over 42 matchdays. The Nerazzurri's 1-0 victory at Messina in Week 35 saw Mancini's side set a new club record of 28 victories in one top-tier campaign

Nerazzurri on target in 36 consecutive Serie A home games

Inter have scored in their last 36 league fixtures at home, netting a total of 82 goals. Their last home game without scoring was the 0-0 draw with Reggina on the final day of the 2004/05 season.

Inter's second-half form

Inter have improved their results in the second halves of matches this season to earn 27 points, more than any other team taking part in the 2006/07 Serie A championship.

Goals unlikely in first 15 minutes?

Inter and Lazio are two of five teams taking part in the 2006/07 Serie A championship to have conceded the fewest goals in the opening quarter-hour periods of matches. The other three are AC Milan, Siena and Udinese.

Lazio approaching record of away wins in one Serie A season

Lazio have won eight matches away from home in the 2006/07 Serie A season. Another victory on the road will see Delio Rossi's team set a new club record. Before this season, the Biancocelesti collected eight away wins in 1998/99, 1999/00, 2000/01 and 2002/03.

Pandev, Makinwa & substitutions

Goran Pandev is the Serie A championship's most substituted player after 35 rounds of games. The Macedonian striker has been replaced in 28 matches. Lazio's Nigerian striker Stephen Makinwa is one of two players to have been brought on a substitute no less than 19 times this season. The other is Roma's Mirko Vucinic.

MILAN - Hernan Crespo netted a hat-trick and Marco Materazzi stole a late winner as the Nerazzurri came from behind to beat Lazio 4-3 at the Giuseppe Meazza.

The Argentine forward neutralised efforts from Pandev and Mutarelli, and scored again late on after Ledesma had put the Biancocelesti back in front before the interval.

Materazzi grabbed a dramatic winner to see Italian champions Inter set a new record of points in one 20-team Serie A championship.

Like their city rivals last Wednesday, Lazio made a blinding start to the match and were two goals up after just five minutes.

Macedonian striker Goran Pandev, who joined Lazio after a spell with Inter's academy, opened the scoring in the third minute, chipping Julio Cesar via a deflection off Materazzi after receiving short from Cristian Ledesma.

Two minutes later, Massimo Mutarelli rose at the far post to nod in Jimenez' right-wing cross.

Inter came back at Lazio and created chance after chance. Stankovic was twice denied by the Biancocelesti backline, with Crespo backheeling wide before heading off target a pin-point curling cross by Recoba.

It was third time lucky for the Argentine forward, who slotted Maicon's cross past Ballotta to reduce the arrears in the 20th minute.

An inspired Recoba danced past three Lazio players and tested Ballotta with a low left-foot shot. Stankovic then went close with a lob shot that finished inches over the bar.

Lazio hit back after the sustained period of Nerazzurri pressure, with Pandev seeing his venomous strike blocked. Inter broke out of defence and Alvaro Recoba almost did what he did against Empoli back in 1998. Five yards inside his own half, the Uruguayan unleashed a long-range effort that went just over the angle between crossbar and post.

Crespo levelled the match with his eighteenth of the season on 35 minutes. Vieira crossed from the right and the Argentine volleyed in at the back post.

Lazio were back in front after a two-footed challenge by Burdisso on Jimenez. From the resulting free kick Ledesma found the top left corner with a curling shot.

The heat took its toll on the players throughout a lower-key second half.

The match came alive in the final ten minutes when Crespo steered in Mariano Gonzalez' low cross from the right to complete his hat-trick and make it five goals in two matches against the Roman teams.

Lazio played the remaining minutes with ten men after the dismissal of Siviglia for protesting.

Materazzi lifted the roof off the Meazza five minutes from time, rising at the back post to head in Stankovic's corner and complete a memorable comeback.
